I grew up living with and loving dogs. When my kids were young I hired dog walkers and was always curious about the job. In 2013, we got our dog Lily and I became and licensed dog walker and started A Walk in the Park. Since then I've done group walks at Fort Funston, Bernal Hill, Stern Grove and McLaren Park. I also do doggie daycare and boarding in my home in Noe Valley. I love spending my days outside with dogs and feel very grateful to do this work.

Dog Grrl was started in 1997 by owner and operator Jenny Test. Dog Grrl thrived and grew into a doggie daycare space in San Francisco that offered small dog daycare, puppy socials with classes with Smarty Pup and a BnB style boarding facility in Healdsburg California. As the business grew so did the desire to help dogs overcome their fears and anxieties so Jenny went to the Academy for Dog Trainers offered at the SPCA and taught by Jean Donaldson. Hi everyone! My name is Naomi Roxas I've been a dog walker in San Francisco for the last 5 years. I started out working for a dog walking company the first 4 years and in February of 2019 I decided so start my own dog walking coverage business! With my previous company it was always stressful to ask for time off and I found that to be the case for other business owners as well. As a graduate in Psychology from SF State, I find taking time off for self care to be very important and I feel as though that is something many walkers have not had the opportunity to enjoy. A graduate of the Dog Training Internship Academy - a comprehensive program that provided me with a thorough understanding of animal behavior & learning and focused on the use of science-based training techniques to change both a dog's behavior and a dog's underlying emotional state that may be driving undesirable behavior. I'm also certified by The Certification Council of Pet Dog Trainers. This requires that I have a minimum of 300 hours of experience; references from a veterinarian, client, and colleague(s); and have passed a comprehensive examination testing my knowledge of learning theory, canine ethology, animal husbandry, classroom management, and teaching techniques.
