I have been a professional dog trainer in NYC for 15 years. As a child, I participated in dog agility and showmanship through 4-H and won several local and state competitions. I began my path to become a trainer by receiving a certification from the vocational school, Animal Behavioral College. When I began to hit a wall in my self-education four years ago, I enrolled in CUNY's Psychology program, and will be graduating May, 2025 with honors with an interdisciplinary BA in Animal Psychology and Creative Writing. I am currently volunteering as a Research Assistant for the Center for Canine Behavioral Studies, as well as assisting in a lab at Hunter studying Pandas. I am also a PPG member.

We are a small training company that wants to help better dog human relationships one dog at a time. We teach both dog and human life skills, leash skills, obedience and housebreaking. We want to help you have the life you always dreamed of with your dog.

Cheryl specializes in successful puppy raising, but also helps guardians with other dog behavior challenges. She offers in-person and virtual private sessions as well as small group classes and Puppy Day School. Cheryl attended the Academy for Dog Trainers in 2002 and have been professionally teaching dogs and their humans ever since.

I've been training for 8 years and I have extensive experience in the daycare and boarding environment, training and caring for hundreds of dogs over 6 years. I'm passionate about helping all dogs and their pet parents, especially with fear and anxiety issues, as well as teaching dogs to relax and be calm while building their confidence, which is an integral part of my training curriculum. Hello, my name is Dieuwke van der Velde, I am a positive reinforcement dog trainer in San Jose, CA and owner of Orion Dog Training. I got my credentials through the Animal Behavior College where I did my internship at the Humane Society of Silicon Valley. I teach online for Sirius Puppy and recently opened a small training center in West San Jose where we offer safe socialization classes for puppies, group classes in basic obedience , puppy agility and tricks.
